FAQs

How accurate is Device ID?
Device ID combines deterministic matching with AI-powered similarity detection, so recognition holds even when cookies are cleared or fingerprints change. Every response includes a confidence score, so you can tune precision against recall.
Is it privacy compliant?
Yes. Device ID is GDPR- and CCPA-ready, you stay in control of data handling, and customer data is deleted on offboarding. A click-through DPA covers the data processing terms.
How long does integration take?
Add a lightweight tag and call the API. You get same-day setup with no vanity URL required; persistent cross-session matching switches on once provisioned, typically one to two weeks.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. Start a guided 30-day trial and see real device profiles from your own traffic before you commit to a plan.
What happens after the Trial?
You continue on a simple click-through order form at the per-session Growth price, or move to a custom Enterprise plan. No lengthy procurement to get going.
Can I use my own risk rules?
Yes. Device ID returns the device ID, confidence score, and risk signals; you decide how to act on them using your own logic.
What's the difference between same-day and persistent matching?
Same-day matching identifies devices server-side from device and network signals, with no vanity URL required, and works immediately with your API keys. Persistent cross-session matching adds a validated browser-storage layer once provisioned, pushing recognition of returning devices close to 100%. Both come back in the same response.
What data does Device ID collect?
It analyzes device, browser, and network signals, such as platform, screen, timezone, and IP intelligence, to derive a persistent identifier and risk context. It's privacy-first and GDPR/CCPA-ready, and you stay in control of retention and deletion.
Which platforms and browsers are supported?
Web across all major browsers, plus iOS and Android through mobile SDKs. The matching model adapts to each OS and browser combination, since fingerprint stability differs across platforms.
How does it handle VPNs, incognito, and cleared cookies?
Recognition is resilient to private browsing, cleared cookies, VPNs and proxies, and IP or location changes, roughly 95% match resilience even without the persistent layer, and the response also flags VPN, proxy, and Tor use.
Does it add latency or user friction?
It runs from a lightweight tag and returns in real time, with no challenge or interaction for the end user. Legitimate users never see it.
How long is data retained, and can I control residency?
Retention is configurable and customer data is deleted on offboarding. Processing terms are covered in the click-through DPA; reach out if you have specific regional residency requirements.
Are there usage limits during the Trial?
The Trial includes a session allowance with volume caps to protect your environment. You'll get in-portal warnings as you approach the limit, and higher volumes are available on a paid plan.
