Arkose Labs' 2022 State of Fraud and Account Security report reveals an 85% year-on-year rise in login attacks and fake account creation across UK commerce, based on analysis of more than 150 billion transaction requests in 254 countries. The report found 1 in 4 new online accounts were fake, 21% of all traffic was fraudulent, and gaming, streaming, social media, travel and e-commerce sectors were the hardest hit. The metaverse was also flagged as an emerging hotspot for cybercrime.
