More than half of all logins on social media platforms — 53% — are fraudulent and 25% of new account applications are fake, according to Arkose Labs' Q3 Fraud and Abuse Report. The report, drawn from analysis of real user sessions, found social media sites have become prime targets for large-scale bot attacks given their high monetization potential for criminals. Attackers exploit the globally connected digital ecosystem to launch organized, automated campaigns at scale against social platforms and digital marketplaces.
