The Sun on Sunday revealed a joint Loyalty Security Alliance and Arkose Labs report finding that up to 5% of UK loyalty cards have been compromised, representing roughly £300 million in points at risk of theft. Arkose Labs COO Frank Teruel told the paper that loyalty cards represent "the point of least resistance" in digital fraud — a "digital currency" far easier to steal than cash because victims are often miles away and the crime is difficult to prosecute.
