Gaming companies faced 260% more online attacks and an 85% spike in fake account registrations in Q1 2022 compared to Q4 2021, according to Arkose Labs' Q2 2022 State of Fraud and Account Security report. The data reflects a broader surge in online fraud ROI that is driving attackers to reinvest profits into more sophisticated and persistent campaigns. Arkose Labs says gaming platforms are consistently among the most persistently targeted digital businesses, rivaling only financial services in the intensity of attacks.
