Cybersecurity Market covered Arkose Labs' threat actor behavior report, which analyzed nearly a year of scammer data to map the economics of modern digital fraud — including a 309% spike in account sign-up attacks during Q4 2024 tied to holiday shopping and advanced bot traffic growing 556% from Q3 to Q4. A solo attacker targeting just 5 gaming platforms with account takeovers can now earn more than $145,000 a year, the report found, with scammers in regions like El Salvador earning 20 times more through attacks than through legitimate software development.
