What the Texas Hunting License Breach Means for Downstream Fraud

Security Magazine gathered reactions from security leaders on the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department breach, which may have exposed driver's license, passport, and contact information for more than three million hunting and fishing license holders. Arkose Labs founder and CEO Kevin Gosschalk said stolen records like these become "fuel for account takeover, synthetic identity fraud, and targeted phishing at scale," and urged organizations to assume exposed data is already circulating and respond accordingly.
