Microsoft, PayPal Invest in Anti-Fraud Startup Arkose Labs

Arkose Labs raised $22 million in a Series B round led by Microsoft's M12 venture fund, with existing investors PayPal and USVP also participating, bringing total funding to $36.5 million. Founded in Brisbane, Australia in 2015 by Kevin Gosschalk and Matthew Ford, the company moved its headquarters to San Francisco when it launched commercially in 2017. The platform is designed to protect consumer actions — including account logins, registrations and payments — against takeover, fake account abuse, scraping, spam and gift card fraud.
