The Philippines ranked as a top global source of online fraud and abuse, according to Arkose Labs' 2019 Q3 Fraud and Abuse Report, which analyzed more than 1.2 billion user sessions from April through June 2019. The report identified a wide range of evolving threats — from payment fraud and gift card abuse to API abuse and account takeover — amplified by the global availability of stolen credentials from data breaches. Arkose Labs noted that at least 2 in 5 login attempts and roughly 20% of new account registrations on affected platforms were found to be fraudulent.
