The Age quoted Arkose Labs CEO Kevin Gosschalk warning that the Qantas data breach affecting 5.7 million customers will create long-tail risk well beyond the airline itself, as stolen frequent flyer tier and points data gives criminals a "hyper-targeted list" to attack retail, grocery and luxury accounts. Gosschalk, an Australian native, told the paper the breach allows scammers to "stack-rank people's wealth" and focus resources on compromising the accounts most likely to yield the highest return.
