Human-driven fraud attacks surged 90% in the second half of 2019 compared to the prior six months, according to research from Arkose Labs, as criminals increasingly blended automated tools with cheap human labor to evade detection. Automated attacks also rose 25% during the same period, growing more complex as fraudsters developed better techniques to mimic trusted customer behavior. The findings, drawn from Q4 2019 session data, point to advanced, multi-step attacks designed specifically to bypass conventional fraud defenses.
