Master fraudsters are earning nearly 3 times as much as FTSE 100 CEOs, with the most prolific cybercriminals pulling in up to $600,000 a month, according to Arkose Labs' Q2 2022 State of Fraud and Account Security report. The data shows online attacks rose significantly in Q1 2022 as furlough policies and post-pandemic unemployment drove more individuals toward cybercrime. Arkose Labs argues the only effective counter is to raise the time, cost and effort required to execute attacks until the economics no longer favor the attacker.
