New report today reveals a staggering 85% increase in online fraud with over a fifth of all online traffic now an attack

The Arkose Labs Network's 2022 State of Fraud and Account Security report warns UK commerce it faces its most challenging year ever, citing an 85% surge in login attacks and fake account creation after analyzing more than 150 billion transaction requests across 254 countries. Gaming, online streaming, social media, travel and retail/e-commerce sites were identified as the worst-hit sectors. The report also flags the metaverse as a fast-emerging breeding ground for cybercrime and introduces the concept of the 'Master Fraudster' — a persistent, high-investment attacker — as a newly defined threat category.
