Arkose Labs' Q4 Fraud and Abuse Report documented a 70% increase in bot-driven account fraud based on analysis of more than 1.3 billion transactions across financial services, ecommerce, travel, social media, gaming and entertainment during Q3 2019. CEO Kevin Gosschalk noted the report exposed evolving patterns in global cybercrime that have grown broader and more complex, making both incentives and victims harder to identify. Researchers found 1 in 5 account openings were fraudulent, underscoring the scale of cross-border fraud operations targeting digital platforms heading into the holiday season.
